Spring Planting Guide for Sky Blue Sunflowers
For spring planting of your sky blue sunflowers, choose an open, sunny spot with well-drained soil (they need full sun!). Plant taller varieties at the north end of your garden to avoid shading other plants.
Prepare the soil by removing weeds and mixing in organic matter (compost is ideal) to the top 6-8 inches, then smooth it out. If no compost is available, add 1-2 inches of organic mulch after planting.
